April updates

...A little April update.

I'm currently working on a small poetry book, I will be hand-illustrating the poems also. 

- It will most likely be a self published poetry book. 

I have been writing poems since my early teens, and with some of my more recent poems I'd really love to share them with you... 

It will be an exciting project to combine two of my passions.

David Bowie Painting - Space Oddity

Here is a little video I put together of some older footage, I painted this portrait in 2016 as a tribute to David Bowie. I hope you enjoy the video, to accompany my painting I have used Rick Wakeman's beautiful piano cover of Space Oddity.

I have been listening to Rick Wakeman's 'Piano Portraits' album a lot lately, it sets a nice relaxing tone. The album has some really beautiful songs on it - including, a couple of Beatles covers, Led Zeppelin, Tchaikovsky and Debussy. It's a lovely album, all the songs flow together nicely and it's very peaceful. I recommend it.

Black Seed

I wish I could put into words what I feel about certain things.

It aches inside me like a black pit -

A seed, that grows and shrivels. 

Waxes and wanes. 

Some days it fills my body, like a black cloud across the sky.

I have to wait until it leaves.

Sunshine

I fixed my typewriter! It was tricky.

It's nice fixing things. Makes you feel accomplished & smart (even if you aren't). 

I got this sunshine machine to type up my completed poems.

It makes me happy to sit and type on it.

I think of writers, 

it takes me to a strange romantic place.

A place that smells like cigarettes and whiskey. 

Caliginous rooms, alive with Jazz.

Mostly, I think of Jack Kerouac. 

I think of Jack Kerouac.
